Johnny Cash items to be sold at auction
Personal effects and handwritten lyrics go under the hammer
Personal effects such as the star's credit card from 1981 and personal cheques and his own handwritten notes from the Watergate scandal will be offered in the auction. A ‘To Do’ list including tasks such as ‘Kiss June’ and ‘Not smoke’, as well as Cash ’s passport, are also up for sale.
Several stage items, including several western-style shirts and pair of boots designed by Cash, who died in 2003, will go under the hammer, as will the jumpsuit worn by the 'Man In Black' during his rehearsal at San Quentin State Prison in 1969.
The auction also includes gold discs and handwritten lyrics to songs such as ‘Don’t Slam the Door’ and ‘Water From the Wells Of Home’.
The event, in Scottsdale, takes place on January 21.
