The Flaming Lips announce short US tour

The Flaming Lips have confirmed a handful of dates in the US in the wake of their double win at Sunday’s (February 11) Grammy Awards.

The band were awarded gongs for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for ’The Wizard Turns On...the Giant Silver Flashlight and Puts on His Werewolf Moccasins’ and Best Engineered Album – Non Classical for the 2006 record ’At War With The Mystics’[b].

They were nominated in three categories, but lost the [b]Best Alternative Album
award to Gnarls Barkley’s ’St. Elsewhere’.

The dates are:

Athens, GA Classic Center (April 11)
Orlando, FL House of Blues (12)
Pompano Beach, FL PB Amphitheater (13)
St. Petersburg, FL Jannus Landing (14)
Myrtle Beach, FL House of Blues (17)
Raleigh, NC Disco Rodeo (18)
Norfolk, VA The Norva (19)
