'Are You Listening' to be released in May

' singer Dolores O’Riordan is to release her first solo album.

’Are You Listening’ is to be released on May 15, and will be proceeded by the single ’Ordinary Day’.

The album was co-produced by Youth and Dan Brobeck. It was recorded at O’Riordan’s homes in Canada and Dublin.

' last album was 2001’s ’Wake Up And Smell The Coffee’, and the band declared they were going on indefinite hiatus in 2004.

In a statement, the singer said: “My time after was a clean slate - no pressure and no contracts. It was the first time in my life I was a free agent. I had no inhibitions, which is how I felt when I first started out. That’s all visible here.

“The album was an awakening for me in my life - a journey that I completed. It’s like I crossed a bridge which is a great new plateau to be on. My life is different to how it was 10 years ago and there’s a great sense of acceptance. It’s a very exciting time to be releasing music again too.”

The 12-track album will included the tracks ’Apple Of My Eye’, ’Black Widow’, ’In The Garden’, ’Watch The Stars’ and ’Loser’.

A clip of track ’Ordinary Day’ can be heard at the star's MySpace site.
