Mest frontman freed

Prosecutors refuse to file murder charges against singer

Mest frontman Anthony Lovato will not face murder charges over the previously reported murder of a 25-year-old man in Los Angeles.

Prosecutors turned down the option of filing charges against him, reports LimaOhio.com.

The incident took place in North Hollywood on Sunday (March 25).

Jane Robinson, a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office, said: "There was insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the killing was not a justified use of force in self-defence.”

Mest were formed in 1995 by Lovato and his brother Matt, and recorded several albums for Madonna’s Maverick label, but split last year.
