Mani – 'I could make a Stone Roses reunion happen'
Bassist says he could reunite legendary band
Mani has declared that he is the “only person” who could make a reunion happen.
Speaking to our sister title Uncut, the bassist declared he could get the former members, who split acrimoniously in 1996, back together.
“I’m the only person who could bring it back together again,” said Mani. “John Squire (guitarist) knows how to craft a tune, Ian Brown (singer) knows how to craft a tune. I don’t know if any of us are powerful without each other. The magic was the power of four.”
However Mani dashed hopes that the band would take to the stage again soon.
“At the end of the day I’m not going to lose any sleep over a reunion, because those days are gone,” he declared.
Plus with Mani now in Primal Scream, he added he was happy with his current bandmates.
“It’s disrespectful for Bobby and Andrew and Duffy for people to say, ‘When are the Roses reforming?’,” he said. “Why bother? I’m in Primal Scream. It would be nice to do, but I’ve got my family now.”
For the full interview with Mani check out this month’s Uncut, which also features interviews with , The Clash and a world exclusive interview with Paul McCartney.
