Xfm granted South Wales license

Indie radio station is to expand

Xfm granted South Wales license

Xfm has announced it has been awarded the new analogue radio licence for south Wales.

Winning the licence against stiff competition, Xfm said it hopes to provide the area with a radio station that enables local musicians and artistic talent to be heard across the country.

The move follows previous successful launches in London, Glasgow and Manchester.

Xfm South Wales will be a wholly local enterprise, sourcing presenters, technicians, backroom staff and a host of other talent from the area.

A launch date for the new station is yet to be announced.
