Creed frontman’s charges reduced

Scott Stapp allegedly threw bottle at wife’s head

Charges of aggravated assault against Scott Stapp were reduced to a misdemeanor today (May 21) by a Florida judge.

Ex-Creed frontman Stapp was arrested at his home in Palm Beach yesterday on charges of aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.

Police were called to the house after Stapp allegedly threw a bottle of Orangina at his wife’s head. The bottle missed her head and broke. The bottle is was not considered a deadly weapon in this case, a fact that led to the charge reduction.

Stapp and wife, Jaclyn Neshiwat a former Miss New York USA married last year.

Upon Stapp’s release he will be obliged to undergo random drug and alcohol tests.
