Antony And The Johnsons to play Glastonbury?

Bjork hopes for festival collaboration

Antony And The Johnsons to play Glastonbury?

Björk has revealed she hopes to team-up with Antony Hegarty, of Antony & The Johnsons, this weekend when she plays Glastonbury Festival.

Speaking to the BBC4 Today programme this morning (June 20), the singer suggested that a collaboration between the two may well take place when she plays the Other Stage on Friday night (June 22).

Asked whether she had thought of any collaborations at the festival Bjork answered "possibly Antony, from Antony & The Johnsons, is going to join me. I don’t know yet…"

Sharing her thoughts on Glastonbury festival as a whole, she added: "If you asked me about all the festivals I do, and where Glastonbury fits into it, I’d say it was definitely a bit of the odd one out because it’s a bit more hooligan – Glastonbury and Reading – they have that kind of reputation."

Describing just what she meant by the term "hooligan" she explained, "It’s like everybody decides beforehand that it’s going to be an out of body experience, so that’s quite a powerful thing. It isn’t very often in western civilisation to have that kind of state of mind. I think it’s easy to knock it down, but it doesn’t have to be mindless hooliganism – there’s another side to it. It can be quite spiritual."
