NME.COM will be bringing you action from the global climate change concerts

Live Earth gets ready to kick off

Live Earth takes place today (July 7) with around 150 acts playing at seven concerts around the world to highlight climate change issues.

The Wembley Stadium stage is prepared for the London leg of the Live Earth and NME.COM will be reporting live throughout the day as the event unfolds.

Genesis are set to kick things off with a three-song set, before comedienne Catherine Tate introduces Razorlight, who will perform ‘Before I Fall To Pieces’ and ‘America’.

The inventor of the “Am I bovvered” catch-phrase introducing Johnny Borrell’s gang isn’t the only odd partnership of the afternoon.

Cockney actor Danny Dyer is set to introduce Snow Patrol, Reign Of Fire actor Gerard Butler will announce Kasabian’s slot and comedian Eddie Izzard will introduce Bloc Party.

Other artists set for the enormous show, the aim of which is to raise awareness of climate change, include the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Keane, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys and headliner [a]Madonna[/b].

Keep your eye on NME.COM for live updates throughout the day plus reports from the other shows taking place around the world, including action from Sydney and New York.
