Josh Homme requires operation

But it won't stop the Queens Of the Stone Age star from touring

Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has revealed he desperately needs a knee operation - but won’t go under the knife until the band have completed their summer touring commitments.

The frontman, who had surgery on the knee back in 2005, was seen limping badly and using a walking stick at the Oxegen and T In The Park festivals at the weekend. But despite his obvious discomfort, he never had any intention of cancelling the shows.

He told Stereo Warning: “It's (his knee) messed up bad. It hurts. I gotta go home and have surgery again. On stage it hurts a lot. I have at least 3-4 moments a set where it feels like boulders underwater, when they hit each other. It's the only way I can describe it.

He added: “But what do I do, go home? I gotta finish what I started. Everyone cancels all the time for hurting their finger and stuff like that, that's not me.”

The band are currently on a European tour, and are scheduled to begin a North American tour later this month.
