Basement Jaxx have teamed up with Yoko Ono for their new album.

The band are currently penning tracks for the follow up to 2006’s ’Crazy Itch Radio’.

Member Felix Buxton said of the new collaboration: “We ended up doing a couple of things, once I started listening to her stuff. I think she was miles ahead.

"She should be on the new album. I mean, we haven’t finished any tracks at the moment, but we are working on her things.”

The duo also revealed that they are keen to get Grace Jones on the new album, but so far have found her elusive.

Buxton said: “We have been trying to work with her for years, but she keeps disappearing, her manager said she was up for it before.”

He also mentioned that he wanted the album to be a double “One album will be soundscapes, the other one will be pure tracks,” he said.

They hope to release the album in spring of 2008, reports BBC 6 Music.
