Alicia Keys is 'dying to work with' The White Stripes

Alicia Keys has revealed she’s "dying" to work with her favourite band The White Stripes.

The soul singer, who also admitted the Stripes’ latest album 'Icky Thump' is her favourite LP of the year, tried to get Jack and Meg to guest on her new album 'As I Am'.

She revealed: "I'm dying to work with them. Me and The White Stripes are going to do something crazy. We tried to work something out for this record, but the timing got a little crazy and it didn't come off. I know we can do something next time around."

And the Stripes are not the only indie rockers that Keys is a fan of.

She added: "I'm dying to work with Queens Of The Stone Age too. Both bands have a very simple approach to music, but it has a soul to it that I totally get. If we did something together, it would be incredible."

Keys' forthcoming album, out in November, sees the star team up with John Mayer and Linda Perry. Six songs from the album were premiered at a low-key playback party on Monday night (July 23). Keys then surprised the small crowd of journalists by playing three more songs at a piano.

The star performed 'Superwoman', 'That's The Thing About Love' and 'Sure Looks Good To Me'.
