New unsigned bands tour ready to go

Four unsigned bands will embark on a five-date UK tour next week as part of the 'Academy Live' scheme to get new bands playing to wider audiences.

Birmingham’s Templeton Park, Bath’s Showing Off To Thieves, Liverpool's The Hot Melts and Newcastle’s Seven Heroes will begin the tour in Birmingham next Tuesday (July 31).

NME’s New Bands Editor Alex Miller will host and DJ the London leg of the tour, next Wednesday at the Bar Academy Islington.

“I’m really excited about the tour,” Miller said. “Plus the organisers have promised me some free drinks, so if you want a drink come and find me!”

The tour dates are:

Birmingham Bar Academy (July 31)
London Bar Academy Islington (August 1)
Bristol Carling Academy 2 (2)
Liverpool Carling Academy 2 (3)
Newcastle Carling Academy 2 (4)
