Frank Black: Kim Deal is against new Pixies album
Singer speaks out about new record
Pixies will not be making a new album, due to bassist Kim Deal’s reluctance, says frontman Frank Black.
Despite plans the reunited band would start work on a new album in January of this year, Black denied this was the case.
He told The Gothamist that bassist Kim Deal was against a new album, saying: “While I may have tried to convince her otherwise, maybe she’s got a point... She doesn’t need a new Pixies record, so maybe there doesn’t need to be one.”
Black has just released a new album ’Bluefinger’ under his Pixies name of Black Francis while Deal’s band The Breeders are working with Steve Albini on a new album.
