Babyshambles’ drummer Adam Ficek has spoken to NME.COM about Pete Doherty’s recent drug relapse, explaining that the singer was “distraught” about the event.
As previously reported on NME.COM, Doherty was filmed taking heroin on Friday (November 2).
He said that the first thing that the singer did when the news broke was sort out a return visit to a drug rehab.
“He’s distraught, he really is,” explained Ficek. “But there’s no point in dwelling on it – going back into rehab is exactly the way to deal with it.
“It’s a small glitch in his recovery. People don’t go into rehab after years of drug use then never dabble again. I support my friend and I hope it’s a one-off. He’s still in a great, great place and he’s still in the best shape I’ve seen him.”
