George Osmond, father of The Osmonds, died yesterday (November 6) at home in Provo, Utah.
He was aged 90 and passed away due to complications related to old age.
He was an early manager of the group and helped launch the careers of six of his eight sons, including Donny, and his daughter, Marie.
Wyoming-born George Osmond kicked off the family entertainment business by teaching barbershop quartet harmonies to sons Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay, who began singing together at church functions and events in Utah.
His daughter, Marie Osmond, who is a contestant on 'Dancing With The Stars', dedicated her latest performance on the ABC TV show to her parents. Her mother, Olive, died in 2004 at 79.
She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "He was a man of integrity, of honour. He was the best man I've ever known," reports BBC.
