Kanye West's mother dies in LA hospital

Cause of Donda West's death yet to be confirmed

Dr. Donda West, the manger and mother of superstar Kanye West died yesterday in a Los Angeles hospital. She was 58.

A spokesperson for West confirmed the death this afternoon (November 11), saying ‘‘The family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief.’’

Dr. West was an English professor at Chicago State University until 2004, before leaving to work with her son, becoming his manager and CEO of Super Good, the parent company of Kanye West Enterprises.

West recently co-authored a book ‘Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar’.

The rapper had just landed in London when he heard the news of his mother’s passing and immediately flew to Los Angeles.

The cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
