T.I. broke gun laws repeatedly, prosecutors say

Rapper T.I., who faces weapons charges, has broken gun laws before, the US Attorney's Office said in papers filed today(November 26).

Federal prosecutors said that they plan to introduce evidence of T.I.'s unlawful possession of guns on three previous occasions when making their case against him.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was was arrested in Atlanta on October 13 for allegedly trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers, as previously reported.

The arrest came just hours before he was set to headline the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.

Harris' previous arrests include one in Atlanta in 2001, another in Henry County, Georgia in 2002 and a third in Fulton County, Georgia in 2004.

Harris was also arrested on charges of selling crack in Atlanta when he was 17, reports the Associated Press.
