Liza Minnelli falls off stage after collapsing in Sweden
Singer rushed back to US for treatment
Liza Minelli collapsed onstage in Sweden last night (December 12) and was rushed to hospital where she stayed overnight.
The ‘Cabaret’ star was performing at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg and collapsed soon into her arena show.
Reports say that singer fell off the side of the stage but was caught by the show’s production manager, saving her from further injuries.
The show’s promoter Micheal Silfverskiold told Reuters that Minnelli was taken to a local hospital after the incident, and this morning returned to the US.
No reason for the collapse was given. Spokesperson Liz Rosenberg today confirmed she will receive further medical exams:
"A doctor upon examining her and in consultation with her NY physician determined that it would be necessary for the Oscar-winning actress and singer to immediately return to New York City to receive further medical examination" Rosenberg said in a statement.
