X Factor winners nabs Christmas Number One

Leon Jackson hits the top spot

X Factor winner Leon Jackson has scored the Christmas Number One tonight (December 23).

His track ’When You Believe’, a cover of the Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston duet, has knocked Katie Melua and Eva Cassidy’s version of ’What A Wonderful World’ off the top spot.

Other new entries on the chart included Malcom Middleton’s Christmas effort ’We’re All Going To Die’ at Number 31, Kylie Minogue at Number 32 with 'Wow' and The Killers at Number 34 with 'Don't Shoot Me Santa'

Meanwhile on the album’s front Leona Lewis has kept the top spot with ’Spirit’.

The Christmas Top Ten is:

Apart from the Pogues tune that is a terrible top ten. It is actually sickening that the winners of x factor do well

God look at that top 10 - with the exception of numbers 4 and 8 the rest of the album is tosh, and number 8 is in danger of being ruined by being overplayed! Number 2 is a great song made extremely boring and Number 6 is so overplayed at Christmas that by this time i want to murder myself whenever I hear it.
Malcolm Middleton's tune might not have been festive but compared to this lot it's a breath of fresh air! Grr, not happy
