Ne-Yo has slapped Chicago-based star R Kelly with a six-figure lawsuit, claiming he was fired from a recent tour without a good reason.
The pair were set for the co-headlining ‘Double Up’ tour of North America late last year, but Ne-Yo performed just two shows when he says he was asked to leave.
He says that Kelly became jealous of the crowd’s enthusiasm for him.
The singer was paid $50,000 for two shows, but was originally supposed to be paid $785,000 for the tour.
The original reason for the split was cited as a contractual dispute.
R Kelly is no stranger to the courts, having recently appeared in front of a Chicago judge and narrowly escaping having his bail revoked.
The R&B crooner will finally stand trial in May to face 14 counts of child pornography charges.
