The Jam founding members prepare for North American tour

But Paul Weller won't be joining them

Founding members of The Jam, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have announced details of a North American tour, kicking off January 24 in San Diego.

The will be joined by Dave Moore and Russell Hastings for the jaunt, the first for the group since the original Jam split up back in 1982.

Having previously said that they would welcome a reunion with former frontman Paul Weller, the band will embark on this tour without the solo star. Bruce Foxton and Russell Hastings will share vocal duties on the outing.

They will play:

Well who else could have written them basslines.
I think Camille Hinds would have been struggling ;-)
And as for Buckler's drumming, unique and brilliant.

Looking forward to reading the reviews, that Mr Hastings is a big fan and does The Jam proud.
The U.S are in for a treat. Enjoy!

From The Jam are an excelent live act without Mr Weller. The addition of a second guitar played by Dave Moore makes the songs sound more like the recorded tracks, as all the over dubs done in recording can now be played live.
Russel Hastings does a superb job of filling Pauls shoes, and Rick and Bruce are still the driving rhythm section that they always were.
If you are going to any of these gigs enjoy them, I'm sure you will.

I'm flying to Chicago (from Kansas) to see them and, yeah, there will be a bit of a void w/o Weller but I've heard a couple of tracks with Russel singing and they sound great!!

I'm just thrilled that I will be able to hear these tunes live, considering they broke up a year before I was even born :)
