Oasis announce North American dates

Gallaghers will play their first full shows in two years

Oasis have announced a handful of shows in the US and Canada, kicking off in Seattle on August 26.

The band have so far announced just four headlining shows, one of which is in the US, with the remaining dates in Canada.

The Seattle show will mark the band’s first live performance in over two years. Following the short stint they will headline the Virgin Festival in Toronto.

The dates are:

Seattle, WA WaMu Theater (August 26)
Vancouver, BC GM Place (27)
Edmonton, AB Rexall (29)
Calgary, AB Pengrowth Saddledome (30)
Toronto, ON Virgin Festival (September 7)

shoulda noted that ryan adams and the cardinals were pinned as the opening act on those dates...or thats what their bulletin on myspace said. thats some top quality shit if i may say so myself

seamonkey= wot a twatflake - britains biggest and best band - not like the rest of the w*nk the NME'll cover for the scenester generation! but anyway enough of pricks - Ryan Adams & The Cardinals supporting i dont think it can get much better!!!! i know its probably not gonna happen but that would be great if Ryan came over to the UK on their home dates!!! Two song writing gods!!!! Bring back the big boys this year!!! Oasis,U2,Springsteen,REM,Neil Young aw im havin a great year!!!!

Ohhh....5 North American dates. That must be exhausting.What is it with British bands and their work ethic when it comes to playing north America? Oasis, Radiohead, etc. generally only play a couple of dates.

haha the fact that Oasis still seem to be relevent in 2008 says a lot about how bumb Britain has become, Its chav music for low ambitious 9-5ers. Oasis fans have that same far away look in their eyes that pets have when you try and talk to them. Dumb as a bag of spanners.

Ha... as easy as I thought! the only thing easier than gettin a few Oasis fans vex, is giving the whole back catalogue to the tramp in the park and asking him to busk em... accurately ! ;).. come on lads 'Lad Rock' went out 10 years ago! + mbowie, 'britains biggest band' ??? maybe in 1995 when they were at best 'decent' Nice name though man 'twatflake' im likin that 1 cheers x ;)

seamonkey you clearly are a great example of what is wrong with the music industry these days. just because the music isnt complicated doesnt mean its sh*t. isnt music all about the enjoyment? whether it be rippng it up at a gig, or just chiling out with friends music brings people together. oasis have proven they can stand the test of time, how many of the current 'big' acts will be around in ten years? ask yourself that. how about you actually go and enjoy yourself instead of ripping into people you only wish you were as talented as. sell out a full scale uk tour in less than 2 hours then your opinion may hold some substance.

brokenguitarstrings, what's your problem??? Why not just be happy that there actually ARE dates booked??? The record is only about to be released, a world tour will follow and there sure are coming more dates for the US. There really is no reason for complaining.

Oasis have never stopped making great music ppl 'll slag of standing on the shoulders yet if a bunch of posh students singin the same songs in a mockney accent most of the readers of this magazine would of thought it was the greatest thing ever! Britsh music is still great if you know where to look for it but because its all down to a look not the music now the real music fans have to keep there hopes on Oasis, Stereophonics(another NME enemy) U2 etc to find anything great anymore...they dont make em like the stones or the beatles anymore wheres The Small Faces or songwriters like Weller n Neil Young anymore - no where to be seen instead the so called great bands of these times Muse/Radiohead are depression talentless fucks! Radiohead were great in the mid 90's but now and especially live dreadful! bands out there like Ocean Colour Scene get no coverage cos there not cool to the student generation - music media is the most idiotic media source out there - luckily for cd's the music lovers can listen to Bob Dylan over over and ovr and not have to put up with shite like babyshambles or the gossip! everyones entitled to an opinion but fuck sake Oasis are still the best british live act out there! and no one to come out in the last 10years comes close and its only U2 who can do it better!
