Sale proceeding

Around 100,000 tickets for this summer's Glastonbury Festival have been sold since lines opened at 9am this morning.

Demand has been brisk for the festival, set for June 27-29. At present tickets remain available for those who pre-registered before the March deadline. However, in previous years all tickets sold out within hours.

"I think three years of mud may have taken their toll, but even so, 100,000 isn't bad," organiser Michael Eavis said.

Glastonbury spokesman John Shearlaw said the sale was "proceeding slowly but fairly", according to the BBC.

"We have a total of 137,500 tickets on sale and there have been no problems reported back to us so far," he said.

"We have worked on the sales system extensively since last year and everyone has a fair chance."

He urged festival-goers to "be patient, keep trying and we will let you know when there aren't any tickets left".

Jay-Z, Kings Of Leon and The Verve will headline this year.

there are definitely weak headliners this year, but for me glastonbury is about the other acts, the atmosphere and discovering bands you've never heard before rather than seeing the headline bands. (if the page went blank after payment details and says your registration numbers have been used, you will have got tickets)

I had the same problem with all the registration codes stating that they had all been used!!! i was lucky and was able to get through on the telephone they said there that i had not bought any as I was thinking that maybe i had and the reference would be sent later. i was also able to proccess my order on the phone. I think that this problem is happening for thousands of people and the only way to book is through the phone!!

If your screen crashed after the card details page yet your reg. numbers are coming up as being used then you have got your tickets. An as for that rumour, people have said that Jay-Z is dropping out.....who knows? I dont.

Get over it! So the headliners aren't great. You could to Glastonbury, not even see any music and still have an amazing time. I bet once all the tickets are sold and the full line up is announced all these people bitching about it will kick themselves!!

FEAR NOT! If you got your bank details in THEN it crashed, you've more than likely got your tickets. We had to wait about 4 hours for our email confirmation. I just went on there and got my mates for him in about 30 seconds.....so if you're still trying, DONT GIVE UP! Poxy ticketing system. Should have a 'tier system' in place like with football clubs. Tickets on sale first ot those been 5 or more years; the next day 2-4 years; the day after 0-2 years. Then you wouldnt get the rush.

I've been going to festivals for donkeys years - I agree that Glastonbury is about much more than just the headliners. BUT for me there are 3 things that make a great a festival:1. hanging out with a group of mates having a great time2. the weather (yes it helps)3. the music. Most other festivals need all 3 elements to be great, but Glastonbury is unique because it only needs one of the 3 for it to be amazing. But you can no longer be certain that your mates will get tickets (can't blame Evis for the new booking system - blame the b*st*rd touts)Do we need to mention the weather?Which just leaves the music - this has to be the least inspiring line up (rumoured or otherwise) that I have ever seen at Glastonbury. Tickets still available on Monday morning??? You not telling me it doesn't look sh*te this year.

Try and enter your postcode on the registration form without andy spaces. I got through at 9.05 yesterday but was faced with them telling me my registration numbers and postcode didn't exist on their database. Took the spaces out and, hey presto, over and done by 9.15 and back to bed for me. Who cares about the headliners. Had a top year last year barely touching the main stage. Its about a lot more than which bands are playing on the biggest stage last thing!

I CANT BELIEVE IT THIS IS MY 12TH GLASTONBURY AND PROBABLY THE WORST LINE UP I HAVE SEEN, 3 BAD HEADLINERS, I WILL DO WHAT I ALWAYS DO CHECK OUT THE OTHER STAGES AS THEY WILL HOPEFULLY HAVE BETTER ACTS, THE BLACK CROWES ARE A STRONG RUMOUR, FINGERS CROSSED, HEY HOW ABOUT BRINGING BACK NEIL YOUNG AS WHEN HE WAS TO APPEAR AT GLASTO BACK IN 1997 AND DIDN'T TURN UP DUE TO AN ACCIDENT WITH HIS HAND IT LEFT THOUSAND OF FANS DISSAPOINTED INCLUDING US, BRING BACK THE OLDIES IS WHAT I SAY, LED ZEPPLIN THE STONES OR DAVID CROSBY, THAT WOULD BE COOL AND WOULD BE SURE TO DRAW A CROWD,NO WONDER THERE ARE STILL TICKETS LEFT FOR PROBABLY THE WORST FESTIVAL LINE UP I HAVE POSSIBLY SEEN THIS YEAR, CHECK OUT THE ISLE OF WIGHT THE POLICE, THE STONES LAST YEAR, NOW WHO CAN BEAT THAT, TRUE TO MY HEART I AM A REAL GLASTO FAN AND EVERY YEAR WE WILL BE THERE AT THE FRONT OF THE QUEUE TRYING TO GET OUR TICKETS AS THE FESTIVAL SITE ITSELF IS FAR THE BIGGEST AND BEST SO WE WILL ALWAYS TRY TO GET THERE DESPITE THE ROTTEN WEATHER, BU MICHAEL HEY WHATS WITH THE CRAP LINEUP, BRING BACK THE OLDIES.......
