Metric preview new material at Coachella
And the band suffer technical difficulties during their set
Metric treated their Coachella crowd to a brand new track last night (April 27), and battled through many technical difficulties during their 50-minute set in the Californian desert.
Dealing with broken down keyboards, front woman Emily Haines compared the instrument to an emotional woman, who gets stressed out during major events, and when guitarist Jimmy Shaw experienced similar issues, Haines asked:
“Is your guitar a woman? It wouldn't be a Metric show unless we we're fucked!”
Wearing a silver shorts jumpsuit and pink Converse high-tops, Haines acknowledged the spectacular setting of the polo field saying:
“This is a special moment, the sun is starting to set. I love Coachella,” which the crowd responded to with a huge cheer.
Making their way through a ten-track set, the Canadian band treated the crowd to brand-new song ‘Satellite Mind’ as well as a host of favourites from ‘Poster Of A Girl’ to closing track ‘Monster Hospital’.
The set list ran:
‘Dead Disco’
‘Poster Of A Girl’
‘Satellite Mind’
‘Empty’
‘Rock Me Now’
‘Calculation Theme’
‘Combat Baby’
‘Monster Hospital’
