George Clinton also on the bill for Comerica Cityfest

The Zombies, De La Soul and Broken Social Scene have been announced to play the 2008 Comerica Cityfest, schedule to take place in Detroit.

Parliament/Funkadelic man George Clinton is also on the bill for the event which will take place July 2-6 over four stages at the Historic New Center.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the festival which was formerly known as the Comerica Tastefest and also includes slots from Calexico, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Aly and AJ, and Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

The entire event is free and has previously played host to the likes of
Wilco, Jet, Cat Power, Spoon, Ray Davies, Weird Al, Lupe Fiasco, Cheap Trick, New York Dolls, Common, Kings of Leon, All American Rejects, and The New Pornographers.
