Aerosmith's Steven Tyler enters rehab at 60

The rocker was thought to be clean for 20 years

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler has checked into rehab in California at the age of 60.

The singer was thought to have been clean for over 20 years after struggling with drug problems in the 1970s and '80s, but is now suffering from an unspecified substance abuse problem.

Tyler, once known along with guitarist Joe Perry as 'The Toxic Twins', has checked into Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, according to US Magazine.

The clinic is used as the location for American reality TV show 'Celebrity Rehab'.

Tyler was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, contracted from drug paraphernalia, in 2003, but is now free of the disease, which has also affected former drug users such as Marianne Faithfull and David Crosby, following intensive chemotherapy.

Tyler is still the lizard king and jagger is no tyler. It's a shame he fell back into something, but hopefully he will pull through. I would love to see you call 60 year old tyler a wimp to his face. He would kick your brit ass back across the ocean.

Steven is not a whimp. I applaud him for admitting once again that he has a problem and for again taking that first step on his journey to recovery. For all of you who have never suffered from the disease of addiction, shame on you for character assasinating someone for having a disease that is as deadly as cancer if not treated. I am a recovering addict and I dont appreciate people looking at us as weak individuals. We are not weak. The disease is just very powerful. If you are an Aerosmith fan (even if your not) just listen to the song Amazing. My thoughts and prayers are with you Steven.

Fuck off DreamOn. Everybody who is anybody knows that sticking that horrible shit in your body is bad fucking news. It's not a disease, how on earth can you compare it to cancer you moron? Is that what they told you at druggie school? At least with drug taking you have a choice not like a life threatening disease that can take hold of anyone at anytime without consent. You lot that condem and sympasise with drug taking are in no way helping the problem and it looks like it's way, way out of control. I'm sick and fucking tired of reading about these multi million pound earning super stars who keep going into bloody rehab. They have it all, more than money can buy and they aren't happy? Well why don't they all do us a favour and fuck off. They should be stripped of all awards, upcoming shows and record labels and made to live in the mess that they create. These people are at the centre of it all and if they stop doing it then maybe others who look up to them won't think about doing it.

WOW!! what alot of heartless S.O.B.S it is obvious that some of you have never encountered or had a loved one with addition problems. Any way whose to say wht kind of drugs it may be, pain killer perhaps aleast he has the balls to do something about it and not hold his head in shame and continue to hide! Sounds like Matt you've got a problem with those who have! Condeming anyone famous person or not for reaching out for help show s how heartless and uninformed you and others are to addition of any kind! You never know what is in someones past or present that could be the center for turning to substance abuse! Hopefully you will never have to find out first hand! AEROSMITH is truly Amazing had it all, lost it all, and have stood the test of time! All of these guys are awesome!!!God Bless you Steven thank you for all the great years!Aero1970
