Garbage singer gets regular TV role
Shirley Manson is set to pursue a full-time acting career, having landed a regular role on a US TV series.
The Garbage lead singer will appear in a recurring role on ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ which airs on Fox.
Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the “CEO of Cyberdyne, a cutting edge hi-tech company” in the show, which is an offshoot of the successful Terminator movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the show was the highest-rated new scripted series of the 2007-2008 season.
As previously reported, Manson’s debut solo album is due to be released this year. Track details of the venture were leaked online, including a possible album title.
Manson worked with Beck, The White Stripes' Jack White, ' Billy Corgan and The Blue Nile’s Paul Buchanan on songs, the titles of which appeared on the website of the American Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
