The Raconteurs rock sunny Glastonbury

Jack White's 'other' band play to huge Pyramid Stage crowd

The Raconteurs mainman Jack White returned to Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage for the third time this decade with his 'other' band tonight (June 28).

The star played here with The White Stripes in 2002, returning with Meg White to headline in 2005. But tonight was The Raconteurs' debut appearance at the festival.

The set showcased songs from both of the four-piece's albums, 2006's debut 'Broken Boy Soldiers' and this year's 'Consolers Of The Lonely'.

White said little, apart from asking the crowd, "those in the sun OK? Those in the shade OK?" before their version of Terry Reid's 'Rich Kid Blues'.

Later on he introduced his bandmates - co-frontman Brendan Benson and rhythm section Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler.

The highlight was an extended version of the band's 2006 debut single 'Steady, As She Goes', with White encouraging the crowd to sing the closing 'Are you steady now?' refrain.
