Oasis' UK tour sells out within an hour of going on sale

Fans snap up 180,000 tickets for the dates

Oasis' first UK tour since 2006 sold out within an hour of going on sale this morning (August 20).

All 180,000 tickets for the 18-date tour were snapped up by fans over the phone and internet - with no reported network problems.

NME.COM also understands that several thousand fans queued for tickets outside London's Wembley Arena, Bournemouth and Sheffield.

A spokesperson for Oasis said: "The demand for tickets this morning was just immense. All the ticket sites slowed down severely but nothing crashed and the system worked very smoothly. We want to thank the fans for their patience and look forward to seeing you all at the shows."

Oasis' new album, 'Dig Out Your Soul', is released on October 6.

No problems ? Phone lines were either off or if you held for 5-10 minutes just cut off. The website was dire, at 9am it couldnt find any tickets for London (cant have sold out in seconds), kept crashing, one minute they had tickets, then none available, then they had some ?!The link from the oasis website was just as bad, crashing with network errors. Its 2008 not 1994, surely sites can keep going despite a bit of heavy traffic ?Disappointing for many fans, within minutes tickets on ebay for 240 quid were appearing and ticketmaster were just as bad with their sister website with ridiculous prices.

To be perfectly honest it was absolute chaos this morning to say the least. I was up and on the PC infact we had 3 laptops on the go trying to get tickets for the birmingham dates. After being stuck in a que onlinethat was quite literally going nowhere I just on the offchance at about 10:15 phoned up and was on hold for about 15mins and then luckliy managed to get through and purchased 4 standing tickets, I count myself to be very lucky! However I won't sleep soundly until the tickets arrive in the post and are safely in my grasp.

Good luck to you people! haha i haven't heard Oasis's name mentioned in like.....................10 years? Gee, must be doing well for themselves.

Thought Oasis had lost their touch when i got through first time at 8:58am to book 4 standing Wembley, Friday. Then tried to book another 4 on my birds card and couldnt get back through. Sold out within the hour, the boys are back. Cant wait.

Managed to get two tickets for B'ham NIA, but not after re-trying the web site for over a hour. So glad I got them though, the new single is blinding. Can't wait!!
