The Streets reveal 'spectacular' tour plans

Mike Skinner is set to make crowd members say 'hello' to each other

The Streets' Mike Skinner has revealed plans for his forthcoming UK tour, explaining that during his shows he will have a section where he encourages fans to introduce themselves to one another.

Skinner also revealed plans to create a parting-of-the-sea-style section in the show where he runs through the crowd then crowd-surfs back to the stage.

"It all started with our 'go low' trick on the last tour [which had the audience ducking then leaping]," he told BBC Newsbeat.

"We've got a new one where we get people to say hello to people they don't know," he continued. "There's another one which is pretty spectacular. The crowd divide down the middle and I run up to the crowd and surf back to the front."

The new album by The Streets, 'Everything Is Borrowed', is out today (September 15).

The Streets' previously-announced tour dates are:

Glasgow Barrowlands (October 4)
Manchester Academy (5)
Sheffield Plug (6)
Birmingham Academy (9)
Newcastle Academy (10)
Oxford Academy (11)
Southampton Guildhall (13)
Preston 53 Degrees (14)
Norwich UEA (16)
Bristol Academy (17)
Nottingham Rock City (18)
Leeds Academy (19)
