Oasis to give away new song

Fans who pre-order 'Dig Out Your Soul' will get free download

Oasis are set to give away a new Liam Gallagher-penned song, 'I Believe In All', as a free download.

Fans who pre-order the band's forthcoming new album, 'Dig Out Your Soul', from iTunes, will receive the song as a free download on the day of the album's release – October 6.

The song was recorded during the 'Dig Out Your Soul' sessions, but does not appear on the album.

Those who pre-order will also receive album track 'Falling Down' at the time of ordering.

Oasis have also announced that they will make a "simple" ten-track version of the album available to download for £5 when the album is released.

The full download version of the album will come with a half-hour documentary about the making of 'Dig Out Your Soul'.

Wow! The Oasis marketing dept are in overdrive. Does anyone think they're starting to look a little desperate though? The idea of selling a "simple" version of your album for a fiver makes me feel physically sick.

I'm getting somewhat annoyed with what's happening with records. I mean seems you can't even get A RECORD anymore. It's always "exclusive tracks here" and things like that. Like the whole bloc party deal. The download deal just adds a whole 'nother level of mayhem over this. I guess having a cheaper "simple" album could hike up record sales, but thats a whole different problem.

So what about the people who go out and buy the album and spend a tenner on it cant we download it for free. Personally im gonna buy the album because i would rather have abrought version of it then some download.

Couldn't agree more, Wolf. I love them, don't get me wrong. But this is getting to be bit much; kind of anti-Noel if you get my meaning. If the Oasis lunch box comes out next, I may vomit.

Physically sick ? Boy you have problems. If an album in HMV is about 8 or 9 quid then a download of a full album (so no covers/booklet/case etc) is a good idea at 5 pounds.I think some people like yourself will criticise them whatever they do. If they did a 'Radiohead' and gave it away for free you would moan.

Look you f'in morons oasis have always treated their fans with bonus tracks- remeber sad song, boneheads band holiday- the tens of songs that would have made it on to any other bands albums in the 90's, that were given away as B-sides? Get a grip they have always given away bonus songs because unlike you whinging lot of fannies their fans really care and maybe more importantly appreciate the fact that they can get a little extra from a band who make nothing but positive life affirming statements.

Never thought I'd have a bad word to say about oasis (apart from the last album being shit) but this takes the cake. Only available as a download why not give the track away on the CD that came with last weeks NME? This from Noel G a once self pro-claimed techno-phobe who now blogs his little heart out. Oasis giving their new album away for a fiver is maybe the saddest thing I ever heard. I'm all for progression but to totally change your views on something (ie cheap downloads like in rainbows) stinks of hypocrisy. psj3809 I wouldn't moan if they gave it away for free I'd just be dissapointed that they felt they needed to

.....blimey loads of haters again on the oasis stories....the free track will be all over the internet for free within hours of the download, for fucks sake, it seems no matter what happens with oasis there's some complaint....if anything, be grateful nothing they release will sound like that dog turd of a new tune by the Pieser Chefs that i heard this morning....talk about moronic music....a new low...
