Kanye West's TV comedy deemed 'too hardcore'

Director says it's been shelved for now

Kanye West’s TV comedy has been deemed too hardcore by TV bosses, who have shelved the project indefinitely.

Larry Charles, who directed the pilot, says that "It was really good, but again I think it was too hardcore for HBO…People gave it a very good response and it seems to be on the shelf right now. The management has shifted at HBO so we're waiting to see."

Charles tells comingsoon.com that the pilot is similar to ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and says West is a “black Larry David”. He said the show is improvised.

So far, West has yet to respond to Charles’ comments, instead concentrating on updating his blog with it’s usual mix of architecture and fashion.

Too hardcore or just rubbish? TV companies only really shelve things if they are shit, not if they are "hardcore". Sounds like an excuse to me

I find it offensive that it's been compared to Larry David's comedy genius!

I actually think he might be able to carry off that improv-style comedy quite well.
