Plus they were forced to cancel Obama show on Saturday

Vampire Weekend have added a third show at Terminal 5 in New York after the first two dates scheduled sold out.

The band are playing a select number of East Coast dates including two at Washington’s 9.30 Club, with the third New York show taking place December 6 following shows there on December 3 and 4.

Meanwhile, the band were forced to cancel a show for Barack Obama over the weekend at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.

In a message posted on their Myspace page, the band explained that security issues resulted in the last-minute cancellation of the show, which was an effort to remind people to register to vote in the upcoming general election.

The message also served as a reminder that today (October 6) is the last day on which people can register to vote.

“We know that everyone will do the necessary research to determine which candidate will fight for the things they care about, but let's all keep reminding each other to vote!”
