James Taylor schedules five shows to support Obama
All gigs will take place in North Carolina
James Taylor has announced five free shows in North Carolina in an effort to sway people there to vote in favour of Barack Obama in the upcoming general election.
Taylor will play shows in Charlotte, Asheville, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Wilmington as part of an effort to swing the voting habits of the state from Republican to Democrat, reports the Associated Press.
The last time the state voted Democrat was in 1976. Taylor himself grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and will encourage people at his shows to vote early and vote Democrat.
Beastie Boys will also kick off their ‘Get Out And Vote’ tour in North Carolina, with a show on October 27 with Sheryl Crow and Santogold.
