New York showcase event kicks off October 20 next year
The dates of CMJ 2009 have been announced, with next year’s music festival and conference kicking off October 20.
The five-day event will run to October 24, with showcases taking place in more than 75 venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn.
CMJ 2008 wrapped up just a few weeks ago, and highlights of this year’s bands include Lykke Li, Crystal Castles and A Place To Bury Strangers.
Among the acts to perform at Club NME’s CMJ parties at Annex were the hotly-tipped Passion Pit and Chairlift, as well as Little Boots and The Whip.
CMJ has showcased many of today’s most successful acts over its 27 years, including MGMT, The Shins, Arcade Fire, The Killers, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM and U2.
