TI testifies in murder trial of his 'best friend'
Rap star says he believes bullets were meant for him
TI testified in an Ohio court today (November 21) that he believes the bullets that killed his best friend two years ago were meant for him.
The chart-topping rap star is testifying in the murder trial of Hosea Thomas, who is accused of killing Philant Johnson during a highway shootout on Interstate 75 in 2006 following a concert after-party.
"All of those rounds were fired for me, in my opinion," he said. TI also told of having to break the news that his "best and oldest friend" had died to Johnson's mother and young daughter, reports the Associated Press.
"I told her that he was gone to a better place and he won't be coming back. And I told her how much he loved her," said TI, whose real name is Clifford Harris.
The trial is ongoing at the Hamilton County Courthouse.
