Madonna causing 'impure' thoughts in Chile, says cardinal Madonna Tickets
Catholic figure says the singer 'provokes lust
A retired cardinal in Chile has criticised Madonna, branding her "shameless" and claiming that she causes "impure thoughts".
Roman Catholic Cardinal Jorge Medina made the comments about the Material Girl, who has her first show in Chile scheduled for today (December 10), during a mass for late dictator Augusto Pinochet.
"This woman comes here and in an incredibly shameless manner, she provokes a crazy enthusiasm, an enthusiasm of lust, lustful thoughts, impure thoughts," said Medina, according to the Associated Press.
The singer will play two shows in the capital Santiago, to 60,000 people each night.
Earlier this week she won a privacy case against British newspaper the Mail On Sunday after they published pictures of her wedding to Guy Ritchie, which took place eight years ago.
She has since been granted a divorce.
