Sex Pistols could record new album in 2009

Sex Pistols' bassist Glen Matlock has said his band are considering record a new album.

The punk icon told The Quietus that while reports that they were recording new material in the summer were wide of the mark, there is a possibility the punk band could hit the studio in 2009.

"The Sex Pistols? We've done our bit this year…we'll meet again in the new year and see what we want to do," he explained.

"We were not recording a new album - I think that journalists are making it up, but you can never say never," he added.

"We all got ideas between us. It's a double-edged sword if you do it not good as the original, and if you don't do it people want to know why - but it's up to us. We are the masters of our own destiny."

I really really really hope they don't. The Pistols have already done enough to try and ruin their reputation; shit tours, bloody butter adverts etc., so another album should definitely be off the cards.

It seems 2009 is the year of the big money reunion! fucking great! its bad enough when the likes of boyzone and take that reunite but when bands like blur, sex pistols, the verve and the stone roses do it....... is there any hope! Really?? who hasn't been linked with a reunion lately?? leave well enough alone and move on!!! stop fucking with your legacy!

Good god I sincerely hope not.The Pistols in my opinion were never really a great music band.They were more of the stepping stone to bands that were actually talented song writers and musicians. The Clash, The Jam, The Stranglers and the like.Don't get me wrong They have a handfull of good 'uns but all in all just the catalyst for the era.I'll wait with baited breath for the comments from fans that will jump to their defence on this hot topic.
