Singer's first show since family murder tragedy will not be in Washington D.C.

Jennifer Hudson will not be performing at the inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington D.C. this month.

The singer, who is currently mourning the loss of her mother, brother and nephew, was rumoured to be performing at the event, which will take place on January 20.

However, Hudson's rep told Access Hollywood that there is no truth to the rumour, and that the singer's next show will be on February 6, at the MusiCares Person of the Year event in Los Angeles honouring Neil Diamond.

Her mother, brother and nephew were shot to death in Chicago in October. Last month, 27-year-old William Balfour was arrested in connection with the murders.
