De La Soul, Santogold, Moby for Obama inauguration party

De La Soul, Santogold and Moby have all been announced to play a special, invitation-only, party to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama next week.

The party, entitled ‘Manifest Hope: DC Inauguration Party’, will be hosted by MoveOn.org, SEIU, OBEY Giant, artist Shepard Fairey, Rosario Dawson, Michael Stipe and Heather Graham among others, and will take place Monday (January 19), the night before Obama is sworn in as President

De La Soul and Santogold will perform live, while Moby will DJ.

In addition to the party, Manifest Hope DC will host an art gallery featuring an array of visual artists to mark the inauguration. According to a press release, the gallery is open from January 17 – 19, and encourages artists and activists to maintain the momentum from the campaign and bring real reform in three key areas: heath care, worker's rights, and the green economy.
