Chris Brown's father pleads with fans
He says his son is 'remorseful' after alleged assault
Chris Brown's father has urged his fans not "to turn on him" following the singer's alleged assault on his girlfriend Rihanna.
As previously reported on NME.COM, Rihanna was allegedly left needing hospital treatment after the attack, which is rumoured to have flared up as the couple travelled to their Los Angeles hotel together last weekend.
Clinton Brown said that his son was "remorseful" following his recent arrest.
"He's very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that [Rihanna's] okay," he told People magazine.
"This is unfortunate, this stumble, this situation. Hopefully, he will get past it. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip."
He added: "If you are on his side, you are on his side. Just because someone trips, if you are truly a fan, you are not going to demonise him instantaneously."
Brown was released on bail in LA and withdrew from the Grammy Awards last weekend, as did Rihanna.
