Punk veteran returns to the airwaves

Henry Rollins to host LA radio show

Henry Rollins has announced that he will begin hosting a new radio programme on Los Angeles public radio station KCRW on Saturday (March 7).

The punk-rock veteran will host the Saturday-night show from 6:00 to 8:00pm. In addition to being broadcast in Los Angeles at 89.9FM, the show will also air on the internet at KCRW.com.

Rollins said that he intends to play "a great mix of all kinds from all over from all time." The former Black Flag frontman, who used to host a show on the now defunct LA radio station Indie 103.1, added, "I was one of the refugees from Indie 103. I was there for four years. I have a record collection I'm very happy to unleash. Being on the radio keeps me going to the record stores and going online and seeing what people are doing and I realize it's only just begun."

Meanwhile, Rollins recently finished filming a series of documentaries for IFC, and is heading up his own publishing company, which releases books, CDs and DVDs.
