U2 announce world tour dates

Glasvegas, Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow to join band on enormous jaunt

U2 have announced the first details of their forthcoming world stadium tour.

The Irish rockers will hit the road on June 30, kicking off the tour at Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium, then continuing through Europe – including four UK dates and a Dublin show – before heading to north America.

Bono and co will play surrounded by the audience on a specially designed stage. See 360.uk.com for a preview of the tour set-up.

Bands who will support U2 at various dates include Glasvegas, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas.

As well as the dates listed below, the band are set to announce details of September/October shows in Atlanta, Charlottesville, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Norman, Phoenix, Tampa, Washington DC and Vancouver.

"With 85 per cent of the tickets priced at less than 95 euro (£87), general admission floor tickets priced at 55 euro (£50) and at least 10,000 tickets at every venue priced at around 30 euro (£27) we have worked very hard to ensure that U2 fans can purchase a great-priced ticket with a guaranteed great view" - I Appreciate they could charge more but its still not really cheap

Are these the ''very special outdoor gigs'' they promised a couple of weeks ago ? Seem like bog standard stadium gigs to me.

Forrestio, yeah when most bands announce gigs like this and there's big gaps inbetween dates it usually means more dates will be added after the first batch sell out. Expect at dates at Wembley on the 15th and 16th aswel

i was told on friday just gone that hey would be playing wembley on the 14th and 15th august by a good source. and that kaiser chiefs would be supporting(guess its the only way that kaisers will play wembley)
