New Mars Volta album gets release date

The new album from The Mars Volta is set to be released in June and is called ‘Octahedron’.

The record, which is the fifth studio album from the acclaimed band, will be released on June 23 via Warner Bros Records and will be preceded by the single ‘Since We’ve Been Wrong’.

The album is the follow-up to 2008’s ‘The Bedlam In Goliath’ which spawned the Best Hard Rock Performance for ‘Wax Simulacra’ at this year’s Grammy Awards.

‘Octahedron’ was written by Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Cedric Bixler Zavala, and features musicians Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, Thomas Pridgen, John Frusciante, Isaiah Ikey Owens and Juan Alderete de la Pena.

The band are confirmed for this year’s Bonnaroo Festival and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival.
