ABBA-penned musical to get English language debut in NYC

A musical penned by ABBA duo Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus is set to make its English language debut in New York City this fall.

‘Kristina’, which was first performed in Malmo, Sweden in 1995, is bound for the city’s historic Carnegie Hall where it will be performed over two nights on September 23 and 24.

The show is based on a series of novels by Vilhelm Moberg and was performed in Minneapolis, MN in 1996, but in Swedish, says Variety.

The plot focuses on a Swedish family who move to the US in the 1800s.
