The category for Best Polka Album at the Grammny Awards has been ditched for next year’s ceremony.
The dropped category is part of a reshuffle in the selection of awards for next year, which also includes splitting the Contemporary Folk/Americana into two categories, Contemporary Folk Album and Americana Album.
In addition, the Latin Urban Album category will merge with Latin Rock Or Alternative into a Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album category, reports Variety.
109 awards will be given out at the 2010 event, which takes place on January 31.
