Weezer to launch online radio series
Christina Aguilera will also DJ her own show
Weezer are set to launch a new online radio series, which will allow artists to produce their own radio shows and choose their own playlists, conduct interviews and provide commentary.
The channel is being created by Clear Channel Radio and Front Line Management and will be called a.p.e. (artists personal experience) radio, reports Billboard.
The channel, which is set to launch in July, will also feature programmes by The Eagles and Christina Aguilera, whose playlist will reportedly include songs by Santigold, Black Sabbath and Etta James.
"Fans always write to ask me what I like and listen to, which makes this such a great opportunity for me to share my musical inspirations with them," Aguilera said in a statement. "My channel is going to be a special place for my fans to find out about my new music, upcoming tours and lots of other news and original content. It's going to be fun."
The programmes will be broadcast via websites for Clear Channel's local radio stations, the iheartradio iPhone/BlackBerry application, and on the artists' websites.
