Manic Street Preachers to bring 'joy' for next album

Manic Street Preachers have said that their next album will be a happier affair than its predecessor 'Journal For Plague Lovers'.
Frontman James Dean Bradfield has hinted that the group's recent reelase, which featured lyrics by departed guitarist Richey Edwards, was "intense" and that the band wanted to lighten the mood for their next album due to the emotional strain they went through making it.
"I think we're going to try and create an experience that brings a bit more joy," he told Bang Media International of the band's next album, which they have not started writing yet.
Elaborating on the decision to change mood, he added: "I think we've always reacted against ourselves. When we made [1998 album] 'This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours' it was our biggest-selling record in the world and then we made a clattery experimental punk album in [2001's] 'Know Your Enemy'."
Manic Street Preachers released a new remix EP, featuring remixes of songs from 'Journal For Plague Lovers', today (June 15).
