Man found guilty of assault after incident last summer
A man has been convicted of causing actual bodily harm after attacking a fellow Alice Cooper fan following a dispute over a prosthetic leg.
The incident took place at Southampton Guildhall on July 25 last year during Cooper's concert at the venue.
Southampton Crown Court heard how disabled defendant, Andrew Miller, removed his limb and T-shirt at the gig and in doing so angered the victim, John Lynch.
Lynch then allegedly began elbowing Miller. Miller then punched him and hit him with a motorcycle crash helmet. Lynch suffered bruising and cuts and Miller fractured his hand, but said he had only acted out of self-defence, reports BBC News.
Miller will be sentenced on July 8, and was told by Judge John Boggis QC: "This was a nasty unprovoked attack. Why people like you have to go and spoil a night out for decent law-abiding people I do not know."
